Top NE doctors spoke at a medical leaders conference

The North East LHIN sent three doctors to speak at a recent medical leaders conference. Among the three was Dr. Gary Bota, who is the Emergency Department Lead. He presented on putting best evidence practices first, which will help to improve patient outcomes. The conference has a goal of improving care and efficiency for hospitals across the North East.

Three of the North East Local Health Integration Network’s (LHIN) physician leads presented at the North East Hospital’s Medical Leaders Conference in November. Dr. Derek Manchuk (left), the North East LHIN’s Critical Care Lead, spoke about regional Ebola planning and the work of the Virtual Critical Care Unit. While Dr. Paul Preston (right), the North East Primary Care Lead, talked about primary care’s role in the health care system and new ways to improve linkages.
