‘STUFF A CRIB’ COMES TO EMS TOY DRIVE

Moose FM and the Schumacher Lions Club are taking care of Christmas dinner for needy families in Timmins through the Stan Fowler Fund. Paramedics and other employees of the District Social Services Administration Board have the toys covered.

Saturday between 8:00am and 6:00pm , they’ll conduct their seventh annual toy drive — this year at two locations, Walmart and Canadian Tire.

Also new this year is “Stuff a Crib”.  Paramedic Commander Derek Cremin says the goal is to stuff a crib with everything from toys, diapers, formula and onesies for babies, right up to things kids up to 16 could use.

“The adolescents, typically, we don’t get a lot of things for,” he notes, “so… if there’s anything for the teenagers, that would help.”

Cash donations are also accepted.

“And at the Canadian Tire location,” Cremin points out, we will be accepting Canadian Tire money.  And the guys are then going to purchase some toys at Canadian Tire.
