The countdown is on: T-minus seven days until the Moose FM Feeding Families Radiothon.
93.1 Moose FM will be broadcasting live from Timmins Square between 9:00am and 9:00pm next Thursday, working with the Schumacher Lions Club for the Stan Fowler Christmas Fund.
This is the second year for the partnership… and Stan Fowler Fund chairman John McCauley says the aim is to raise a lot of money towards grocery vouchers for families who need help at Christmas.
“One-hundred percent of the proceeds goes towards food vouchers,” says McCauley, which we get together and deliver to families at Christmas.”
As for a fundraising target? “We try to beat what we raised last year, and last year we raised a little over $52,000. So this year,” according to McCauley, “our goal will be to at least get as much if not better than the 52-thousand.”
Last year, 375 vouchers were distributed, meaning 375 families were helped.
This the second year of the partnership involving Moose FM.
