Northern College students help to keep the bears at bay in Nunavut

A Northern College welding program in Nunavut is finished. Six students completed the program, which trains them to work in the North. Part of the training had them make bear proof garbage bins. Students who graduated from the first cycle of the program are in the workforce. President of Northern, Fred Gibbons says the program is an example of how colleges and remote communities can work together to provide new opportunities for local people.
