Saying “Darn! I forgot to put my garbage and recycling bins out to the curb” could be a thing of the past, all thanks to a new app.
Timmins Recyclepedia has been released by the city’s waste management operations.
According to environmental co-ordinator Christina Beaton, it will remind you about collection day, and answer your questions about what goes into which bin. “So they can search it with the waste wizard, and if an item doesn’t show up, they can suggest it as an item so we can review it and then update it.”
The app also has a game called “Ready, Set, Sort”.
“It’s a fun way to test your waste and your recycling knowledge,” Beaton says, “and it’s a good teaching tool.
