Timmins Museum Renamed After Retiring Councillor

The Timmins Museum will now be called the Michael J.J. Doody Centre of Excellence.

Announced at town council, and Doody’s final as a municipal politician, council approved the renaming of the building in his honour.

Rightfully so, Doody, who was a founding member of the Timmins Economic Development Centre, now has his name grace the same building that house the TEDC.

Doody will now be retiring from his political career within the city of Timmins.

Doody made several comments during council that he ever expected a building to be named after him, but to have a building so close to him grace his name was a true honour.

He also made sure to detail that despite his political career coming to an end, it did not mean this would be the last time the community will hear from him.

Doody says he plans to enjoy time with his family moving forward.
