Court Dates Pushed Back

Court dates have been pushed back for Rick Dubeau.

The former councillor’s lawyers were in assignment court today and say there are still some ongoing discussions happening, so no firm dates can be set at this time.

Dubeau is facing charges of corruption of a municipal office and breach of trust by a public officer. The Timmins Police Service says this is for allegedly offering to act in a preferential manner to Goldcorp in his role as a city councillor in exchange for the company buying his home at a premium.

Dubeau will be back in assignment court on December 5th. The investigation into this case started September 7th last year, and Dubeau was arrested and charged on September 14th.
