NE leaders meet with FONOM

Mayors from the North East were in Toronto this week to discuss the forestry sector with FONOM. On the agenda was the Resolute paper mill closing in Iroquois Falls. Last week, Timmins Mayor Steve Black called the closure a devastating blow to the community in an open letter to Kathleen Wynne. The leaders and FONOM also discussed the attacks from Greenpeace on Resolute. They are asking people to write false reviews on Best Buy’s website to bully them out of selling Resolute paper products. Despite the mill closure, Resolute is a major employer in the North. FONOM will continue to speak out on these issues.
