You Share Your Election Priorities

As election day draws closer, you are making your priorities known.

Candidates for both mayor and council have been talking about their priorities and answering your question at various debates over the past few weeks. Things like Stars and Thunder, youth retention and the proposed aquatic centre have been discussed at length.

This has stirred some thoughts on what you would like to see come out of the election. The MyTimminsNow.Com newsroom spoke to a few people on what they think their priorities are. Some people said, “the safety in downtown Timmins needs to be addressed and Porcupine Lake definitely needs to be cleaned up.” Others talked about youth retention saying, “a lot of it is they can’t get jobs here because they aren’t bilingual, and to me that’s discrimination and if I were them, I’d be out of there too.”

Election day is coming up in one week on October 22nd. Online polls are currently open.
