Temiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof is calling on the government to leave the power on at Resolute. The heat is going to be shut down in February, which Vanthof says will destroy the building.
He says once the frost sets in, the infrastructure will be ruined. If that happens, there will be no chance to use it for something else.
It was announced last week that the paper mill in Iroquois Falls will be shutting down at the end of the month.
