Electrical Work will be Done at Hollinger Park

More upgrades are being added to the Hollinger Park remediation work.

City Hall says this includes an electrical transformer in Fred Salvador Field. Facilities Manager Glen Thurston says the city plans to hire an electrical contractor to install a large power transformer in the park’s garbage shed. Thurston says there will be a line around that south side of the park and four individual transformer stations which will take power from the transformer. The electrical work will cost $184,000.

Thurston says the city is looking at building a maintenance shed, but at the moment that project is too expensive. The building a maintenance shed would house different machinery for the park. The estimated cost for this was $136,000. Council asked if there was a way to build this under the Grandstands or build it in-house instead of going through a contractor. Thurston says there isn’t enough room under the Grandstands, and the staff is looking at what it could costs to build in-house.  He says more options on that will be reconsidered in the future.
