Timmins Women Sentenced For Aggravated Assault

A Timmins woman has been sentenced to almost two years for aggravated assault.

21-year-old Katlynne Osawamick was initially charged with attempted murder back on June 17th for an incident that took place near Mountjoy Street North and Sixth Avenue.

Police says Osawamick had slashed the neck of a female victim, and then stabbed both of her legs.

She pleaded guilty in Timmins provincial court to aggravated assault as well as possession of methamphetamines for the purpose of trafficking.

Osawamick has been sentenced to two years of jail time, minus a day for her aggravated assault.

She has also been sentenced to three years of probation, and the judge has imposed a lifetime firearm and explosives ban on Osawamick.
