Power Outages UPDATE

Update at 5:04pm:

Power is starting to come back on in the downtown core. Hydro One says 17,000 customers were affected by an outage at a transmission line. The power company says it is working on getting everyone back up and running as soon as possible. Click here for the Hydro One outage map.

 

Update at 4:28pm:

Hydro One says 17,000 customers are currently without power because of an outage at a transmission line. The power company says power will be restored gradually over the next few hours, but no set time. Click here for the Hydro One outage map.

 

Update at 3:14pm:

We have received messages from people around the city that power has once again gone out. Hydro One has not updated it’s map yet as to how many costumers it’s affecting. The company say the estimated time it will be back on is 6:00pm.

 

Update at 10:56am:

Power is being restored to Timmins east end after this morning’s power outage. According to the Hydro One Storm Centre Map, most of the costumers in the Mountjoy area have power restored. Hydro One says there still a few people without power, but crews are working on it. Full restoration is scheduled for noon today.

About 5,065 Hydro One costumers in Mountjoy area are without power right now.

Hydro One says crews have been dispatched and will start working to restore power very soon. It is not yet known what has caused the outage. Stop lights in the area could be flashing, so you are reminded to treat them as a four way stop.

The power company is estimating that full power will be restored by 12:00pm today.
