News A Mushkegowuk Grand Chief has been elected SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Tuesday, Nov. 18th, 2014 A new Grand Chief has been elected for the Mushkegowuk First Nations. Former Mayor of Cochrane, Lawrence Martin, takes the top spot after being elected from a group of seven, and will replace Stan Louttit, who passed away this year. Martin says he will be carrying out the direction of the agenda that the citizens set. Two of the biggest issues Mushkegowuk members discussed during the elections are resource development and health services in their region. Martin will be sworn in later this month.
