Timmins teens got the opportunity to hit the big stage at Stars and Thunder.

Students in the Timmins High and Vocational School Sonic Democracy program got the opportunity to be one of the openers for Mariana’s Trench tonight. One of the band members Hannah says it’s a change going from their smaller high school stage to a full on festival.

She says it’s amazing to perform in front of huge festival crowds after training and practicing all year long.

Guitarist Nathan says not too long ago, he didn’t think he could do this kind of performance.

The high school students rocked out some covers including a Tragically Hip medley, as well as some original music from their new album Crossroads and Dreamlands.

All the students say this is an amazing experience and they are glad they were able to do this.
