The maternity ward at the Timmins and District Hospital is able to buy new equipment thanks to a generous donation.
The Knights of Columbus and Daughters of Isabelle councils from throughout the district donated over $26,500 to the Hospital Foundation.  Acting Executive Director Patricia Gaudreau says this money will go towards buying a new neo-natal ventilator for the hospital. This equipment costs a total of $44,000. A neo-natal ventilator helps create a space for newborns to breathe, sleep and grow when they need help.Â
Gaudreau says this is amazing donation and will help families and babies throughout the district in their time of need.
