Stars and Thunder Ticket Information

Ticket sales have gone up slightly since the last update.

At the last council meeting, the City of Timmins said 6,023 Stars and Thunder tickets worth $1,591,475 had sold. City staff says last year the event sold a total of 21,353 tickets worth $3,994,847.

CAO Dave Landers says over the last week about 1,000 more tickets had been purchased bringing the total amount of tickets sold to about 7,000, which is a fairly low number. He says this will not change how the festival operates.

Landers says the festival will be equipped for anyone without a ticket to purchase one on-site with cash, debit and credit. He adds for those who have already purchased their tickets, the process for getting wristbands will be different this year. He says because of the volume of people with pre-purchased passes last year, the city gave out festival wristbands a few days before the gates opened. Landers says this year that won’t be happening.

Landers explains that last year, the only people with wristbands were those with week-long passes. He says this year everyone will get a wristband to make the line flow better. He says this way when people with single-day passes come and go from the grounds they won’t have to go through a sign in and out processes, cutting down on line up times.

Landers says the city is hoping for more people to buy their passes at the gate. This year the grounds will open at 3:00pm on weekdays, 1:00pm on weekends and 12:00pm on Canada Day.
