Timmins Works on Improving City Streets

Overnight construction is starting this week.

The City if Timmins says crews will be doing patch work and paving streets throughout the city overnight to fix some of the rough spots. CAO Dave Landers says crews will be reducing traffic to one lane in various areas between 6:00pm and 7:00am.

Work is scheduled for: 

  •  June 18-19 – Milling the intersection of Pine Street and Eighth Avenue, Intersection of Pine Street and Ross, Algonquin Blvd East bound shoulder lane Pine Street to Spruce, Cameron Ave North Bound Bannerman to Commercial
  • June 19-20– Milling various locations on Shirley Street and Theriault Blvd
  • June 20-21– Milling the Rea Hill Shoulder Lanes both East bound and West Bound
  • June 21-22 – Paving the intersection of Pine Street and Eighth Avenue, intersection of Pine Street and Ross, Algonquin Blvd East bound shoulder lane Pine Street to Spruce, Cameron Ave North Bound Bannerman to Commercial
  • June 21-22 – Paving the intersection of Pine Street and Eighth Avenue, intersection of Pine Street and Ross, Algonquin Blvd East bound shoulder lane Pine Street to Spruce, Cameron Ave North
  • June 22-23 – Paving various locations on Shirley Street and Theriault Blvd
  • June 23-24 – Paving the Rea Hill Shoulder Lanes both East bound and West Bound

Landers says the Engineering Department says doing the work overnight will be less disruptive. He says people will need to pay attention to the work being done.

Landers says after this week, work will continue throughout the summer to improve and paint the roads.
