The Ministry of Labour is investigating a weekend incident at Tahoe Resources.
Tahoe says on Saturday, a contract employee was doing a routine pressure check on a first aid oxygen cylinder at the Timmins West Mine when some compressed gas was released and caught fire. The company says emergency crews and the Ministry of Labour were called and the fire was quickly put out. The worker was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
Tahoe says it is working with the Ministry of Labour and the Timmins Fire Department as they continue their investigations.
