The Timmins Police Service is investigating a suspicious death in the Gold Centre section of the city.
TPS says human remains were found in a burned vehicle in the area. Communication Coordinator Marc Depatie says there is currently no link between this vehicle incident and the vehicle that was found with the Gagnon family.
Depatie says the investigation is being done in collaboration with the OPP. The public is being asked to stay away from the scene while crews investigate.
The identity of the body found has yet to be determined. Depatie says it may have to be sent down to Toronto for a post-mortem examination.
TPS says there was a report of a car fire that sparked a bush and grass fire in the area earlier today. Depatie says this fire is linked to the discovery of the body.
