Timmins Celebrates Police Week

A week dedicated to the police force is underway.

Timmins is celebrating Police Week by covering a range of topics within the city by Timmins Police Community Service Officers talking about crime prevention and anti-bullying strategies. Constable Rick Lemieux says the talks range from simple tips to in depth conversations.

Lemieux says being able to speak to the public in a more casual format, like a booth in the mall, makes conversations around crime prevention more comfortable. He says officers will be talking to the public and handing out pamphlets. 

Lemieux says this will will also feature a student chief for the day, as well as tours of the police station. He says you can request a tour by calling the station and asking for him.
