Timmins Snowmobile Trails are Closed

After an 18 week long season, the snow mobile trails are now closed.

The Timmins Snowmobile Club was one of the last clubs to close down the tails for the season. It says this was the longest sledding season the region has seen within the past decade. Regional President Gilbert Fortin says it was a fantastic year with incredible traffic and all coming to the northern region.

Fortin says as the weather warms up, its time to close down the tails for safety reasons.

Fortin says this is because some of the land is donated to the club during the winter months. He says that trail signs and stakes are now being removed and the gate fences are now closed. He adds that just because the winter is over, doesn’t mean the club stops working.

Fortin is sending out a huge thank you to the volunteers, land owners and trail permit holders for making this an amazing winter season.
