Spring melt has cause the City of Timmins to close a major road.
The city says Theriault Boulevard is closed from Vimy Avenue to the entrance of Timmins High and Vocational School for vehicle safety reasons. The city says snow melt is filling the large potholes, making them impossible to fix. Crews say the water is also making them impossible for drivers to see.
The Public Works Department is asking that only local traffic use Theriault from Jubilee Avenue. Crews say you can access Ecole Secondaire Theriault and College Boreal by the Gilles Street entrance.
The City says it will reopen the road when the potholes can be patched in dryer conditions.
