New Signs Will Help Tourists Find Local Hot Spots

Visitors will be able to explore Timmins a little easier this summer.

New bilingual wayfinding tourism signs pointing the way to different parks, downtown areas and attractions will be placed around town to help guide people to everything Timmins has to offer. Manager of Tourism Guy Lamarche says from a tourism perspective, this is long overdue.

Lamarche says this project is a great way to showcase all the Timmins landmarks and family stops.

Funding for the$60,000 project came from a number of places including the Timmins Economic Development Corporation, Timmins Museum, Downtown Timmins BIA, Venture Centre, the city, Tourism Northern Ontario, FedNor and Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership.

The new signs will be installed early this spring.
