Timmins Engineers Hope to Inspire Students During National Engineering Month

Local engineers are spreading the word about the industry this month.

The City of Timmins is naming March National Engineering Month and the Porcupine-Kapuskasing chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario will be using the month to teach students about all the different areas in the field. Treasurer Tony Linton says the group will be holding a popsicle stick bridge building competition with grade five students at Ecole publique Lionel-Gauthier tomorrow.

Linton says the competition will be judged by how much weight the bridges can hold before they break.

He says the goal of this competition is to get students interested in engineering as a possible career
