Timmins Receives $3-Million for Connecting Link Project

More Connecting Link work will be done this summer thanks to some provincial funding.

The City of Timmins is getting $3-million from the Ministry of Transportation to upgrade the Connecting Link for the third year in a row. Mayor Steve Black says this summer, work will be done on a section between the Bruce Y eastbound towards Legion Drive.

Black says city staff will bring some RFP’s to council in the near future for approval so work can start as soon as possible. He adds that although the city is excited to get this money, staff are still in talks with provincial officials about the future.

Black says hopefully some of the new infrastructure programs that are rolling out will allow the city to tackle bigger projects link this.
