Flags will be flying at half mast this week as the Timmins Police Service honours an auxiliary member who passed away this week.
TPS says Auxiliary Staff Sergeant Darryl Bender died on Monday in hospital.
Police say Bender was an original member of the current Auxiliary Unit and served TPS with pride since 2005, devoting countless hours to volunteering. Deputy Chief Des Walsh says Bender is the definition of volunteering by doing more because you want to and he will be greatly missed.
The flags at TPS will be lowered until Friday.
