Recent R.I.D.E. Program Stops Impaired Drivers

A few people are facing charges after the most recent R.I.D.E. program traffic stop.

The Timmins Police Service says on March 3rd, officers were making stops on both the snowmobile trails and city streets.

Police say one person is facing charges for driving without a permit on the snowmobile trails.

TPS says two drivers are facing charges for driving impaired on the city streets after 124 vehicles were stopped.A 47-year-old Timmins man is facing two charges for driving impaired and a 52-year-old man is facing four charges including driving impaired, failing to stop and driving while suspended.

Police say everyone is aware of the dangers of driving impaired. If you suspect someone is driving under the influence, you are encouraged to call police.
