Man Arrested After Barricading Himself in a Home

A Timmins man is facing multiple charges after barricading himself in a home.

The Timmins Police Service says on Monday night at about 8:00pm, officers were called to a home in South Porcupine because of a possible dispute. Police say once they arrived, they received information that a man barricaded himself inside and may have a weapon. The TPS Emergency Response Team secured the area around 11:00pm and gained access to the home at about 2:35am.

Police say the 20-year-old man has been arrested under the mental health act and faces charges of mischief under five thousand dollars, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and breach of probation.
