Charlie Angus, the MP for Timmins-James Bay, has developed a national action plan on suicides. Angus says his plan is for both Indigenous and non-First Nation people. The plan is designed to reduce suicides through a public surveillance program. An emergency summit involving remote First Nations in Northern Ontario coping with suicides got Angus to develop the plan.
