FONOM welcomes news about new long-term care beds

While a Northern Ontario lobby group is pleased the province is announcing more long-term care beds, there’s no word on where they’ll go.  The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities hopes some of the beds are located in the north.  It says aging seniors have had more of an effect on Northern Ontario than those living in Southern Ontario.   The province plans to create five thousand nursing beds by 2022.  It’s aiming for more than 30-thousand news beds over the next 10 years.
