The Special Investigations Unit is looking into a second death in Timmins involving the police. In this case the SIU is trying to determine how a 62-year-old woman died after she was arrested. The SIU says the incident began at the local hospital mid-afternoon Saturday where a woman was asked to leave. The woman left in a taxi but later that day police learned the same person was causing a disturbance at a shelter. Police locked her up but then around 10:00pm Saturday the SIU says the woman was taken to hospital and police were told the next day she had died. Timmins police are already being investigated by the SIU after a police officer shot a man who died also on the weekend in an unrelated incident.
