The Timmins and District Hospital is in the midst of trying to find a partner to help manage its sleep clinic.
Chief Financial Officer Bryan Bennetts says they are searching for a partner to continue the sleep lab services in the City of Timmins, rather than moving the service elsewhere.
Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson has commented saying that privatization will not guarantee any improvement in the service.
However, Bennetts says the hospital needs to find a partner in order to continue the clinics’ services within the city.
Bennetts says currently, they are in the final stages of preparing a request for proposal to the public.
He says the goal is to maintain the sleep clinic within Timmins.
Bennetts says the lab has immense importance to the city, as well as surrounding communities along Highway 11.
