January is Crime Stoppers Month in Ontario and the local chapter is celebrating with updated statistics.
The District of Cochrane Crime Stoppers says 313 tips were received in 2017, leading to over 100 charges laid, over $30,000 of stolen goods being recovered and over $50,000 in seized drugs. Coordinator Marc Depatie says these numbers are good, but the program needs you to continue submitting tips.
Depatie says the local chapter collects tips from all over the region, not just Timmins.
He says the District of Cochrane Crime Stoppers is proud of its achievements in 2017 and looks forward to helping police solve crime in 2018.
