The Great Canadian Kayak Festival, held in Timmins, has been recognized and awarded. The committee received the Distinction Award by the Northeastern Ontario Recreation Association. The award is given to leaders who promote active and healthy living in the Northeast. It also recognizes those who make a significant contribution to recreation. Co-Chair of the fest, Guy Lamarche, was on hand to accept the award at the Educational Forum and Trade Show in Sturgeon Falls.
