An investigation into an event between the Timmins Police Service and an injured 59-year-old Timmins man has been terminated.
The Special Investigations Unit says on October 17th, TPS and the Cochrane District Emergency Medical Service were called to a home in the Algonquin Boulevard and Mount Joy Street North area. SIU says the 59-year-old man was arrested and had a number of cuts on his arms. SIU Director Tony Loparco says the man’s injuries were self-inflicted, so the investigation has been terminated.
The Special Investigations Unit investigates reports involving police where there has been a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
