Old and new downtown businesses are being recognized for their achievements.
The Timmins BIA held its downtown businesses awards last night to recognize the new businesses in the downtown, ones who have given back to the community and business leaders in the downtown. BIA Executive Director Noella Rinaldo says this year they really focused on the small businesses that have recently moved to the downtown core.
This year, Councillor Michael Doody was awarded the Leadership Award for all of his work on the BIA Board of Directors. Doody says this is a great honour.
Rinaldo says the BIA will continue the awards next year.
