A strike deadline has been set by the union representing the faculty working in the Ontario college system.

Professors and workers are set to hit the picket lines on Monday at 12:01am. Chair of the union bargaining team JP Hornick says the employer refused to consider key faculty issues and the strike deadline has been set to get negotiations moving before it’s too late.

Northern College has stated it will be keeping resource areas open for students to study during the strike. College Boreal says it has an extensive communication plan to ensure all students know what is happening with classes.

There are over 12,000 OPSEU workers expected to strike across the province next week.
