Cliffs Natural Resources has said they will most likely be selling off their huge chromite deposit at the Ring of Fire, putting the project at risk. Cliffs was originally going to invest in the Ring of Fire, and then last year all activity was halted for two reasons. There was a lack of leadership from the government, and there was no business plan created for the companies and First Nations to work together. Michael Mantha, Algoma-Manitoulin MPP, says the NDP has been calling on the Liberal government to take a leadership in creating jobs in the north, but instead they are sitting on the sidelines watching as investment dollars and good jobs leave the province.
