Northern College is making changes to their Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program. In the past, the in-class portion of the program was eight weeks at a time in Southern Ontario because Northern College didn’t have approval to teach it. The college has now received approval from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. President of Northern College, Fred Gibbons, says programs like this are going to positively impact the skills gap and youth unemployment levels in our region.
