With a partial solar eclipse happening at the end of the month, the Timmins Public Library is hosting an information and viewing workshop.
The library says this session will tell you what to expect and how to view the August 21st partial eclipse safely. Reference Librarian Karina Douglas-Takayesu says there is no safe point during where a person can view a partial eclipse because it never achieves total darkness. Douglas-Takayesu says you will notice that the natural light will dim, but never become completely dark.Â
The information session will start at 6:30pm Monday at the Timmins Public Library.
Science Timmins will be doing a guided tour of the partial eclipse from 1:06pm to 3:36pm at Gillies Lake on August 21st. The organization will provide safety viewing sunglasses.Â
