A funding boost has been given to the Timmins Native Friendship Centre.
The centre received over $3-million in combined federal and provincial funding through the Investment in Affordable Housing agreement. Timmins Native Friendship Centre President Gary Martin says this funding goes straight to the 18 affordable housing units being built for local Indigenous residents.
Martin says this funding means more than just building housing.
He says the next gap he wants to address is youth and elder homelessness.
