Balancing this year’s provincial budget and promising to do so for the next three years is an election ploy according to Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson.

The provincial liberals have announced the 2017 budget is balanced and includes funding boosts to healthcare, education, and hydro. Bisson says if this wasn’t an election year, most of these announcements would not have been made.

Bisson says all of these promises sound great on the surface, but it seems like a move to secure a spot in the next election.
