There is a freezing rain warning in effect for today.
According to Environment Canada, the freezing rain will change to rain by early this evening as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark. The weather surface says highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Drivers are asked to watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
Environment Canada says ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.
