City Council Adds a Budget Meeting to Next Week

A special budget meeting will be added next week after a lengthy discussion at City Hall.

Timmins City Council was asked to approve a report from staff stating the current expenditure budget is looking at a 2.41 per cent increase, or $71, 288, 152 for 2017.

Mayor Steve Black says some councillors feel more items in the budget need to be discussed before an approval can take place. Black says this is concerning because it’s the end of April and the budget has yet to be finalized.

City Hall will send out a notice once the date for the budget meeting has been confirmed.
