More taxis are wanted in Timmins.

ThePolice Services Board is looking at whether there are enough taxi plates between the two service companies Northern Taxi and Vet’s Taxi. Board Member John Curley says there are 60 plates in town, but Vet’s Taxi owns 49 of them. Curley says Northern Taxi is looking at getting more vehicles and plates.

Police Chief John Gauthier says he will bring more information on the costs and legalities to the next board meeting in May.
