Cochrane, Kapuskasing and Hearst have come together on a letter to the Minister of Social Services regarding the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board funding formula.
The change to the cost sharing formula for the DSSAB was concluded back in mid-March between the Cochrane District and City of Timmins. However, the three municipalities within the Cochrane District do not agree with these changes to the share of costs.
They stated in a joint media release that their ability to provide social services will suffer from these proposed changes. They also state they will be exploring all their available options to help create a more appropriate conclusion to this process.
