Timmins Connecting Link Funding Application is Denied

The City of Timmins has been denied funding for this year’s section of the Connecting Link Project.

According to Mayor Steve Black, the Ministry of Transportation will be funding the projects that can be finished in one year for the 2017/2018 program. Black says the project in Timmins is set to cost $120-million when it’s all complete. He says this is very disappointing.

Black says council had set aside some money for the Connecting Link Project and will now look at either saving that money for next year, doing a temporary shave and pave fix to the highway, or allocating the money to fixing other roadways in the city.
