The Timmins Farmers’ Market will officially be open at 11:00 Wednesday morning. There will be a new addition this year, with the Farmers’ Market Dollars available for purchase. The program has been introduced throughout Canada, and they offer the dual benefit of food and farm security. The Farmers’ Market Dollars are vouchers that provide the community with the ability to access high quality, locally grown food, while supporting local farmers. The Farm to Fork dollars come in three dollar denominations. They can be used all summer at the Urban Park Market and the Mountjoy Farmers’ Market, to buy food and items from participating farmers.
