Pedestrian Hit by a Train has Died

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a train along Highway 144.

The Sudbury OPP says yesterday afternoon, a pedestrian was hit on the CP rail line in Moncrieff Township. Constable Andre Taschereau says that Highway 144 between Regional Road 8 in Onaping and Route 560 at the Watershed was closed for about 4.5 hours while police investigated. Taschereau says the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Taschereau says more information will be released as it becomes available.
